Part Two Of My Review Of The Action Classic, Cobra(1986) Starring Sylvester Stallone, Brigitte Nielsen, Reni Santoni, Andrew Robinson, Brian Thompson, John Herzfeld, Lee Garlington, And Art LaFleur. Directed By George P. Cosmatos. Trivia # Reni Santori’s character in Cobra is Sgt. Gonzales. In Dirty Harry (1971), Santori’s character was also named Gonzales (Harry’s partner, Chico). # Andrew Robinson (Det. Monte) and Reni Santori (Sgt. Gonzales) had worked together 15 years before in another cop film, Dirty Harry. In that one, Robinson was credited as Andy Robinson, who played the psychopathic ‘Scorpio’. # Much of David Rasche’s role was cut from the final version. In the behind-the-scenes documentary, an additional scene featuring him is shown being filmed. # Body count: 52. # In the diner scene where Cobretti brings over the fake hamburger to Ingrid, there is an oval frame on the wall that says “King Cobra” – a brand of beer. # The bobble-head doll that Cobra is playing with outside the diner is wearing the uniform of the Philadelphia Phillies – Sylvester Stallone’s home city. # Cobretti uses a custom Colt .45 Cal using Glaser Safety Slugs, a frangible bullet. This is shown when he unloads his pistol in his apartment to clean it.
