Do you live and breathe Elvis Presley? Do you find that you are caught in a trap and that you can\’t walk out? Is this trap an endless need for Elvis memorabilia? Do you just love it too much, baby? Do not give much credence to those with suspicious minds about your addiction. They just don\’t realize how popular Elvis collectibles are. All over the world millions of people flock toward such collectibles just as much today as ever before.

The gamut of memorabilia runs from the kooky to the esoteric to the sublimely expensive. During a 2009 auction of some of Presley\’s personal possessions, the blue jumpsuit and cape with gold lining that Elvis wore during a 1972 performance at Madison Square Garden fetched more than $210,000. A 14KT gold and diamond ring depicting an owl\’s face was sold for $40,000.

Not all pieces of Elvis history are so overwhelming to the pocketbook. Savvy shopping on online auction and retail sites, careful sifting through yard and garage sale items and another visit to that cluttered and dusty attic of yours all just might result in an impressive haul.

Authentic autographs and records are two of the more popular pieces of memorabilia. A genuine Elvis signature on an album sleeve, poster, magazine, etc. Can be quite valuable and are usually only found up for auction. Because Presley made so many recordings, the possibilities for collecting albums and 45s are virtually endless. Some people prefer displaying their records rather than actually playing them.

If you find yourself in a cold Kentucky rain, there is no need to worry. Elvis Presley memorabilia will keep you warm. There are numerous blankets, quilts, sheet sets and throws featuring pictures of The King. Any shape, size or color you can think of is available. And often they come in their own storage tins. And what good are sheets and blankets without pillows? Won\’t the rest of the passengers on the train be jealous when they see you resting comfortably on your Elvis neck pillow?

Elvis fans are not limited to any particular age group. Fans of all ages love him. Maybe you have kids who are part of the newest generation of fans. I bet they would like to have their own Elvis lunchboxes. How about the \”Love Me Tender\” pink lunchbox with thermos to match? After lunch, everyone can enjoy a fun game of Elvisopoly.

No matter how many pieces you have in your collection, you will likely always feel as though you need something else. A clock is always a good idea. How about an alarm clock with the face of your beloved Elvis on the dial? Or for the more distinguished clock owner, there is a pendulum clock with Elvis\’ legs acting as the pendulums. Something a little more subtle to think about is the Elvis fan cord figurine. Attach it to the fan pull cord and tada! Elvis cools off the room.

There is nothing wrong with a healthy desire for an Elvis collection. I say give me a little less conversation and go out and get yourself some nice pieces to add to what you already have. Elvis Presley was and is a musical icon who will continue to be loved for years to come.
